- After you order your kit. It will ship within 24hrs from your purchase.
- Upon receipt of your DNA collection kit. Following the enclosed instructions on how to collect your genetic samples and complete your consent form.
- Place all items after you collected your genetic samples and completed the consent form in the prepaid return envelope going to the lab that came with your kit.
- Once your kit is received by the lab testing will begin.
- Upon the completion of testing. A copy of the test results will be emailed to you and a physical copy will be mailed to your home.

The difference between the Walgreens retail home paternity DNA test kit and the Paternity Express home DNA paternity test kit is as follows:
- Walgreens offers a home DNA paternity test that requires customers to register their kit and pay a separate laboratory fee after purchasing the kit, collect your samples, mail them back to the laboratory, and then wait for the results to be released online where you can access them.
- Paternity Express uses a different DNA testing model. The cost of the home paternity testing kit includes the DNA collection kit, laboratory testing, DNA sample collection instructions, and direct case-worker support for each person’s case. Once your purchase is initiated online or by phone with a DNA consultant, there is no separate kit registration or laboratory payment required after you purchase a Paternity Express home DNA test kit.
Each Paternity Express case is assigned to a caseworker. Customers can speak with a real person, receive telephone status updates, and contact us when they have questions or encounter a problem during the testing process.
Some customers may prefer purchasing a lower-cost retail DNA test kit and managing the testing process themselves.
Can a Home DNA Test Kit be shipped to Two Different locations?
Yes. We can ship DNA test kits to two different locations within the United States. The only exception is New York State, where New York State Department of Health guidelines prohibit at-home hair DNA test kits from being shipped to residents. This restriction does not apply to residents of the other 49 states.
